Photography Fellowship

The Good Grit brand launched in 2014 with one mission in mind, to tell meaningful stories and inspire people to own their story, and share their Grit (perseverance at the highest level) with the whole damn world. We are a magazine telling those stories—and we are a creative agency helping businesses do the same. If you are reading this it is probably because you know that creativity is your meaningful contribution to the world and you are looking for a place to release it in a meaningful way…if that’s true—you may be just who we are looking for.

We have two very exclusive Fellowship opportunities—Graphic Design and Photography. These two positions are exclusive because not only will you be paid for your work you will leave with a portfolio that makes you WILDLY sought after in the creative space—and well, if you are still in school then you’ve heard rumors of how hard it is to land a dream creative role just out of college. Good Grit believes in the next generation of designers and writers and illustrators and photographers and editors and videographers—and well, ALL OF THEM. Because without creatives the world would be a pretty sad place. So, THANK YOU FOR EXISTING. Read more to find out the qualifications for your dream position.

Good Grit is in the process of finding a local Birmingham student that could benefit from getting hands-on training and experience with our creative agency, in a fellowship setting.

This is a paid position, with a stipend of $1,000/month for a commitment of 15-20 hours a week (flexible knowing school comes first!), and the fellowship would last for up to a year. We’re hoping to fill the position by the beginning of September.

Through this fellowship, you would have the opportunity to learn from our Creative Director, Shivani, as well as the Creative Director of Good Grit Magazine, Cat Buchanan.

Good Grit believes in partnering with local non-profit organizations to help tell their stories. Part of the fellowship will enable you to be part of a non-profit project (under the direction of Shivani and Cat), in which you will be able to add images to your portfolio.

Ideal candidate is a junior or senior in college.
