Overview

South Georgia wanted to elevate its appeal to international visitors, particularly ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Rather than relying on traditional print materials, they needed an immersive, user-friendly website that would introduce global travelers to the unique offerings of 11 small towns in the region. The goal was to create a cohesive yet locally resonant digital platform that reflected the culture, charm, and hospitality of South Georgia while catering to an international audience.

The Strategy

We knew that curating a digital itinerary meant more than organizing activities—it meant crafting an open invitation to the world. Our strategy combined the visual beauty and engaging storytelling we’re known for in the magazine world with the digital functionality and clarity needed for a global travel audience. Every step of the process was designed to be inclusive, collaborative, and rooted in South Georgia’s distinct identity. From structured workshops to design ideation, we prioritized cultural immersion, simplicity of navigation, and storytelling that sparked curiosity.

The Execution

To bring this destination to life, we facilitated a 2-hour virtual workshop with local stakeholders to surface the must-see attractions, hidden gems, and personal stories from across the region. We followed this with detailed surveys for each of the eight itineraries to ensure broad and diverse input—from tourism directors to small business owners.

From there, our team:

  • Created custom outlines and brainstormed creative themes such as “Wild South Wonders” and “The Real Taste of South Georgia.”

  • Wrote 600–800 words per itinerary with an SEO-forward, reader-friendly voice.

  • Designed a flexible website layout with modular sections for each itinerary, including travel tips, playlists, etiquette guides, and FAQs.

  • Developed a template that was easy to translate, share, and update as South Georgia continues to grow.

The content and site design emphasized intuitive navigation for both desktop and mobile users—making it just as useful for a tour operator planning in Germany as it is for a traveler exploring on the road in Georgia.
